Roy Hamilton
Roy Hamilton was a Golden Gloves boxer before he got his singing start in the mid-50s. One of the most influential artists of his time, Hamilton had a wonderful voice which incorporated both his classical training and gospel experience. He died prematurely at age 40 in 1969 but is fondly remembered for hits such as "Unchained Melody" and "You'll Never Walk Alone".
In 1995, Collectibles Records released the two-CD compilation of Roy's performances pictured above. It includes his distinctive rendition of "Stardust."
